My Trip To Nagoya Castle
My Trip to Nagoya Castle .Recently i have been travelling a lot hopping from one country to another. The Journey is mainly for business nothing leisure. While i was not working out when i am abroad , normally i will spend my time checking around the city that i travel.
This time , i got a short notice business Trip to Japan.My destination is at Japan 3rd largest City Nagoya.To translate it direct in English Nagoya means old Shop House.There are a lot of historical site in Nagoya Japan that worth a visit. The most famous one is the Nagoya Castle.It happens that the last 2 days of my trip in Japan , i have plenty of free time , the Nagoya Castle is in my list of visits
Introduction about the Nagoya Castle
The Castle was built during the Edo Period by the Tokugawa family.It was one of the largest castle in the Japan history. During world war 2 it was destroy by Air raids. The current building that sit there now is a reconstruction of the original building . Renovation and reconstruction is still on going trying to replicate the original building by using the same building material and construction method.
How to Get There
- Taxi – If you stay somewhere near in Nagoya City Center , it will cost you around 1200 to 1500 Yen to get there.
- Metro– At the Nagoya Station, take the Higashiyama Subway Line to Sakae Station and change to the Meijo Subway Line to Shiyakusho Station .The Castles east gate entrance is about 5 minutes walk away.
- Bus-Or you can use the Meguru Tourist Loop Bus here

After you enter the Nagoya Castle Main gate , you will see the Palace .This site is open for tourist , you will only need to take off your shoes while you enter and keep your hands off the woods while you are inside.

After you tour the Palace site, walk straight and you will see the majestic Castle in no time!Isn’t that awesome!

Whats inside the Castle
Well there are a total of 7 Floors in the Castle. You can either take the Lift or climb the Stairs. For the stairs there are 2 different direction one is for Up priority while the other is for down. Level 2 to Level 6 are stuff with Historical Relics , like Pottery, arts, Manuscript, historical weapon , armour suits etc. While the top part at level seven is the observatory tower. where you can view the Nagoya City Skyline.
