Real Reactive and Apparent Power Calculator
A lot of Engineering Student or even Engineer got Confused about what is a Real Power , Apparent Power , Reactive Power and Power Factor.
The real reactive and apparent Power Calculator will help you calculate these values.
In Simple English What is a Real , Reactive and Apparent Power
- Apparent Power (KVA) -> Is the Input Power Supply by the Grid , Power Source ( eg : Generator ) etc
- Reactance Power (Kvar)-> Is the Power Consume within the Equipment.
- True Power (KW)-> The Real Out put power after taking Reactance Power into Consideration
- Power Factor (PF)-> Real Power divided by Apparent Power. In a Perfect theoretical Scenario it should be 1
Example : The Grid Supply Power to your Iron ( That is the Apparent Power)
In your Iron there are Coils which consume some Power ( That is the Reactance Power )
Your Iron Output Electric convert to Heat in ( KW) that is your True Power
The Power Triangle
Refer the Power Triangle below:
The Formulae and How to Calculate :
Apparent Power = True Power / PF
Reactance Power = sin θ x Apparent Power
Power Factor = True Power / Apparent Power
True Power = Apparent Power x Power Factor
